Mike and Debbie Bloomgren
Debbie's Questions and Answers:
1. How long have you been a client with SLHF?
Since Chip was offering a class in a pole barn in Leonard. I think it has been about 5 years.
2. What do you look forward to the most when coming to class?
I always know I am going to get a good workout and the routine will be different, interesting and challenging. I am also waiting to see if maybe this will be the day it gets easier. haha
3. What has been the most rewarding part of your SLHF experience?
Feeling fit and strong. I also really appreciate Chip and the other coaches and the individual treatment they give us. If we need an alternative exercise they are always ready to suggest something or help you work on technique.
4. What keeps you going/motivated?
I feel so much better when I work out. There is also a certain satisfaction that I can still do most of the routines even though I have 8 grandchildren!
5. What has been the hardest part of this journey?
3 years ago I got my husband a gift certificate for SLHF for Christmas and told him I thought he would really enjoy it. The only time that works for him is the 5:30 a.m. class and I told him if he would go, I would go to the 5:30 class with him. I really enjoy that we work out together, but getting up at 4:30 a.m. is still tough!
6. What has been your favorite exercise and why?
I was a high school and college athlete, so anything with a coordination or balance component is fun and challenging for me. I generally like anything with the physio ball or medicine ball.
7. What advice can you offer others looking to start?
Just come and try it. Mike and I travel a lot and occasionally take other classes when we are gone. Each time we try something different, we realize how blessed we are to have found a gym like SLHF. Chip is great and he surrounds himself with great people. Our classes are like a little family and everyone is welcomed and encouraged at the fitness level they are at. Chip makes sure no one is trying to do something they shouldn’t. He makes sure you are using appropriate weight and correct technique. At the same time, the work out is your own. You reap the benefits for the efforts you put in. As long as I can still get out of bed in the morning, I’ll be coming to Starting Line!
