Chili

 

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (or turkey)

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1 (14 oz) can pinto beans

  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. In a medium sauce pan on medium-high heat, sauté onion in a small amount of butter for 3-5 minutes. 

  2. Add ground beef and cook until it is no longer pink. 

  3. Drain the fat. 

  4. Pour meat into a crock pot.

  5. Open the can of pinto beans and with the juice add the beans to the meat. 

  6. Add the tomato sauce and water to the crock pot. 

  7. Add all the seasonings. 

  8. Give it a light stir. 

  9. Turn crock pot on to low. Keep warm until you are ready to eat.
