Easy Almond Banana Protein Bars
We keep hearing the benefits of bone broth, but who wants to actual drink it? By using a bone broth powder, we can incorporate it into some delicious bars that are easy to bake and quick to take on the go!
Easy Almond Banana Protein Bars (Modified from Dr. Axe)
1 cup gluten-free oats or whatever oats you prefer
1 cup bone broth protein powder ** I used Ancient Nutrition Banana Creme flavored but vanilla would work great as well
1 cup sprouted almond butter (I like sprouted almond butter but any nut butter would work)
¼ cup honey
2 mashed ripe bananas
2 eggs or egg substitute
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8 x 8 pan with coconut oil or line with parchment paper and set aside. In a small bowl, add in oats and protein powder and stir. In a large mixing bowl, add in almond butter, honey, bananas, eggs and vanilla extract. Mix almond butter mixture until well combined. Pour in oat mixture and stir again. Spread batter into pan and bake about 30 minutes or until firm. Let bars cool before cutting and serve.
